Hi! I’m Marie. I am a pre-licensed professional counselor working under the supervision of Stephanie Moore. If you choose me as your counselor, I will be dedicated to establishing a positive relationship with you. I will do my best to create an environment for you that is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive, no matter what your background is or how you identify. My primary goal is to provide an empathetic space for you so that you can express yourself freely. I will aim to empower you, help you realize your worth, and work with you to make long-lasting changes. 

I know what it feels like to face depression and anxiety on a daily basis. I understand how painful it is to get divorced and have to start all over, while trying to navigate the world of single parenting. I know the grief that comes with lost friendships. I understand the challenge of going through different life transitions and trying to figure out who you want to be. I know how important it is to communicate effectively to those around you so that you feel heard and validated. You’re not alone, and it’s not just you. 

I graduated from Augustana University in 2009 with a BA in Elementary Education. I earned my MA in Educational Technology from the University of Sioux Falls in 2013. I worked as a Title 1 teacher for 14 years at Hayward Elementary and Whittier Middle School here in Sioux Falls, before pursuing counseling, my true passion. I’m currently earning my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University and working towards licensure in the state of South Dakota.
