Emotional Wellness Support Group Overview:

What Is Emotional Wellness?

Emotional Wellness is the overall emotional health of a person and their ability to handle their own emotions and the stress and challenges that they encounter in life.  Emotional Wellness is the ability to accept one's self and overall feelings without self judgment, fear, anxiety, stress, and depression around one's thoughts, actions, and beliefs.  Emotional Wellness also encompasses a person's ability to cope with change and manage their overall emotional health through the challenges that everyday life transitions present.  The theory of emotional wellness is founded upon the idea that it is impossible to have a healthy and fulfilling life if one is not feeling well emotionally.  Poor emotional wellness can impact a person by lowering their immunity and cause deep bodily stress, increase hypertension and blood pressure, increase heart issues and psychiatric symptoms and increase illness, cause relationship issues, difficulty concentrating and organizing tasks at work, and create overall lifestyle disharmony, fatigue, and disinterest in life in general.

How Is Emotional Wellness In A Group Setting Completed?

Guided by a trained therapist, you will learn and understand yourself, discuss group topics, and employ new techniques like mindfulness, positive reframing, breathing, relaxation, and identifying life balance.  A Support Group will help you decide whether you have a hard time identifying your emotions and help you employ changes toward noticing big improvements in overall emotional wellness. It will help you express different circumstances and receive feedback from peers, and allow you a safe place to explore yourself without judgment. Emotional Wellness Group focuses on developing healthy relationship with yourself so that you can remain regulated no matter what life throws at you. Emotional Wellness helps you identify thoughts, bodily sensations, and trigger points that allow you to employ learned coping methods to remain regulated and calm even among chaos and turbulence in life.

How Many Sessions Are Required?

Emotional Wellness is offered as a once a week 12-week program.  Those that participate in Groups are asked to do weekly readings and complete the content for each week, however, applying it and processing occurs at the participant's pace.  Some group members have returned for repeat groups, and some find one 12-week session to be enough to advance onto other content.

How Do I Know If The Support Group Is Right For Me?

This Emotional Wellness Group is for you if you struggle to take care of your emotional or physical well being; if you struggle to invest in sleep and look at it like a waste of time; drain your own energy to the detriment of self; don't have many coping mechanisms to manage your stress; run around and stay so busy that you cannot stop to think about how you feel or what you want to do; allow others to control your emotions; feel sick all the time; have trouble focusing on daily tasks; and have conflicts in relationships due to resentment you carry around from not taking care of your own needs; feel fatigued and tired even when you are making time for rest.

This Support Group offers a safe space for individuals to come together and support each other on the same journey of struggle to develop compassion, empathy, and understanding for another.
